Review of mobile phone quick charge technology development

With the increasing daily use of smartphones, laptops and other digital electronic devices, faster power transmission has become an increasingly important consideration. Therefore, quick charging has become one of the key requirements for consumers to purchase products. Currently, there are many fast charging products on the market, including QC from qualcomm and USB PD from apple. The principle of quick charging: In fact, the charging rate is measured in watts (W), which is calculated by the product of volts and amperes (W = IV). In other words, the more power a battery has, the faster it can be charged. As long as the battery can provide more than 9W (5V and 1.8a) of charging current, it can be considered as fast charging. Obviously, qualcomm's QC2.0, QC3.0 and USB PD technologies are the mainstream technologies for rapid charging. Qualcomm QC with USB PD: 1.Quick charging is a proprietary technology that can charge battery-powered devices, mainly smartphones, at levels higher than the 5V and 2A levels allowed by most USB standards. There are many Quick charging protocols on the market, including samsung and OPPO VOOC's adaptive Quick charging, but qualcomm's QC (Quick Charge) and usb-if standard USB PD are the most commonly used Quick charging protocols. To make use of qualcomm Quick Charge, relevant equipment must support QC specification. 2.USB PD (Power Delivery) is a standard protocol pushed by the USB-IF organization that can deliver Power through any USB connection, but requires new connectors and cables to support a full USB 2.0 connection. Currently, the well-known mobile phone brand that adopts Power Delivery is Apple's iPhone. As long as the USB type-c is used to Lightning port, you can enjoy the convenience of rapid PD charging. Let's start with the Quick Charge: Quick Charge 3 is the most popular Quick Charge technology developed by qualcomm. It is applicable to the existing USB 2.0 connector and cable, and can provide 18W peak power for charging equipment, while the USB battery charging standard can support 7.5w power, which is an improved and upgraded version of QC2. Basically both allow 18W of charging power. QC2 can operate at 9V or 12V, while QC3 can operate at incremental voltages up to 20V. Of course, as Qualcomm's proprietary technology, Quick Charge applies only to Qualcomm's mobile processors. It's worth noting that qualcomm has announced in the past that version 4.0 of Quick Charge will be compatible with Power Delivery. In other words, Quick Charge 4.0 will have the ability to communicate with PD, but there are still some upgrades that can make it compatible with Quick Charge 3.0. What is Power Delivery? USB PD (Power Delivery) is a standard protocol promoted by USB-IF organization. Under this protocol, charging purpose can be achieved through any USB connection, but the process requires new connector and cable to fully support USB 2.0 connector charging, so it will not surpass type-a or type-b connector in A short...
